Introducing OrderBookFX

Black Light Data is pleased to announce OrderBookFX: a new tool for retail and institutional FX traders. We provide a real-time FX liquidity data stream showing the global depth of book for all major currencies. Developed by traders who understand that most currency market participants are blind to price runs on short term horizons, OrderBookFX provides this visibility on a massive scale. Our subscribers see the global institutional limit orders above and below the current market prices in a real-time, low-latency display.

Real-Time, High Frequency

The OrderBookFX service streams data to your workstation or automated trading systems blazingly fast and with very low latency. Our custom platform is capable of delivering thousands of book updates per second to your desktop with minimal network and CPU resources required (see our support page for system requirements and other technical information).

Transparency

Knowing where real supply and demand are is a vital key to successful trading. With OrderBookFX you will see where the big orders are, and where they are not.

When speculators are aware of true sentiment, their strategies improve significantly and trading becomes more transparent and efficient. Our market data is live and unobstructed – the aggregate of institutional and retail activity across a wide base of venues, not just one broker or ECN. OrderBookFX subscribers see the same standing limit orders that their brokers see, creating real transparency in the currency markets. With OrderBookFX, you will know when your broker's pricing is lagging, drifting or otherwise unscrupulous.

Easy To Use

All OrderBookFX subscriptions come with our clean, intuitive software for viewing the book data stream. In addition, developers and technically savvy traders are welcome to integrate our data into their systems (see the API page for documentation.) A ready-to-go MT4 indicator is also included, as are a stdcall DLL and a simplified interface for integrating OrderBookFX data into your EAs and custom indicators. Source code for the MT4 indicator and interface is provided.

OrderBookFX was built as a toolset, allowing traders of every caliber to enhance their strategies. Devise new trading algorithms from our unique, real-time data stream. Use our Viewer software to see the book data stream on your trading workstation, or integrate our low latency real-time API into your trading systems at no additional cost.

The OrderBookFX Viewer

One way to view our data is with the included OrderBookFX Viewer application. In the Viewer, one or more grids are configured to display our book data stream.

Change Instrument

Each grid can show the book for any subscribed currency pair. Subscriptions may be changed at any time from within the application by selecting the Subscription Manager menu item on the Change Instrument menu.

Change Resolution

The price resolution for a grid can be changed at any time using this menu.

Customize Your View

The number of grids shown in the Viewer is limited only by the number of pairs you are subscribed to. As the height of the window is adjusted the grids will expand vertically. The book data will normally automatically center in each grid. A scroll bar is available to view the book above or below the displayed values, and after doing so the grid prices will lock until you re-enable auto-centering.

Always On Top

You can force the Viewer window to remain on top of other windows on your desktop, enabling you to float the Viewer above your charting or trading software.

The OrderBookFX MT4 Indicator

Drop the included MetaTrader 4 indicator into your charts to view the current institutional order book alongside your broker's pricing. Your broker's spread markup is easilly visible along with real market support and resistance levels. Use our indicator to trade visually or build your own EA with our DLL.
